The price we charge is the maximum amount that you will pay Red 7 Ranch Ranch (R7R) directly for the animal and slaughter charge; this does not include custom processing. Customer will pay for the cost of processing directly to the processing location when picking up the meat.
A rough all in ESTIMATE for a Quarter of beef with a hanging weight of 185lbs including standard processing is about $735. For clarification when purchasing a quarter of beef from R7R you are getting a split half of beef. This means that each quarter from the half will get equal amounts from the hind quarter and front quarter cut to their specifications accordingly. Animal/slaughter charges:
Our animals typically get slaughtered around 1300lbs live weight. A quarter of beef typically has a hanging weight of about 185lbs. The vast majority of our animals fall right around this number but a hanging weight for a quarter can range from 150-210lbs. A quarter of beef with a hanging weight of 185lbs typically results in about 100-110lbs of meat in your freezer; this includes everything from premium steaks to roasts and ground beef. The amount of finished meat and types of cuts will fluctuate/change depending on the cuts you choose and the size of the animal accordingly. Our price per pound (based on hanging weight) for a quarter of beef is $2.95/lb. This results in a cost of approximately $545 for the quarter of the animal itself. A quarter of beef has a flat rate slaughter charge in the amount of $50 regardless of size/weight. In total customer will pay R7R $595 for the animal and slaughter charges for a quarter of beef to then be custom processed.
Note: If animal has a hanging weight of LESS than 185lbs hanging weight then customer will be credited the difference at the rate of $2.95/lb hanging weight. If animal has a hanging weight of MORE than 185lbs customer will not owe R7R any additional amount directly but will pay the additional processing fees to processor (see processing section). Examples:
Hanging weight of 165lbs (less than 185lbs): 165lbs (hanging weight) x $2.95/lb = $486.75 + $50 slaughter charge = $536.75. Resulting in a credit to you of $58.25 from R7R. Processing charges are additional and are paid directly to the processor upon customer picking the meat up.
Hanging weight of 200lbs (greater that 185lbs): The total amount owed to R7R for the cost of the animal and slaughter charge would remain at $595. Processing charges are additional and are paid directly to the processor upon customer picking the meat up.
Processing:
Processing charge is NOT included in the amount owed/paid to Red 7 Ranch. Customer will determine and pay for processing directly to processor. Basic processing costs approximately $.70/lb hanging weight but does vary based on cutting selections. Customer will get a text or phone call directly from the processor approximately 5-8 business days after the slaughter date selected to gather cutting instructions. Meat will be processed and ready to pickup about 10-14 days after slaughter date selected. The processor will walk you through the selections over the phone; they do a great job with this and are very helpful so rest easy if you are new to this! Upon notification of processing completion customer will pickup the meat and pay processing charge directly to the processor when picking up their order. Total amount for animal and slaughter must be paid in full to R7R before meat can be picked up from processor.
Estimated basic processing cost for a 185lb quarter of beef at $.70/lb is $129.50.
Estimated basic processing cost for a 165lb quarter of beef at $.70/lb is $115.50.
Estimated basic processing cost for a 200lb quarter of beef at $.70/lb is $140.

If order is cancelled on or earlier than 30 calendar days before slaughter date a 10% processing fee of original order amount will be deducted from refund amount. A 15% processing fee of original order amount will be deducted from refund amount if order is cancelled within 30 days of slaughter date.
